Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Yuki mobile application (“App”) developed by Timur Zadvornov (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About the App

Yuki is a language-learning application that helps you build vocabulary through flashcards. You can submit video links or raw text, and the App uses artificial intelligence to extract vocabulary matching your proficiency level. You then learn and review cards using a spaced repetition system (SRS).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will terminate their account and delete their data.

3. Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Submit content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s infrastructure or other users’ access
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Circumvent any access restrictions or usage limits
• Share your account credentials with others

5. User Content

• You retain ownership of any content you create in the App (flashcard decks, cards, text submissions).
• By submitting content (video URLs, raw text) for vocabulary extraction, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely to provide the extraction service.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you provide.
• We do not claim ownership of your flashcards, decks, or learning data.

6. Video Content

The App allows you to submit video URLs for subtitle extraction. By using this feature:

• You are responsible for ensuring your use of video content complies with applicable laws and the platform’s terms of service.
• We fetch publicly available subtitles only — we do not download, store, or redistribute video or audio content.

7. AI-Generated Content

Vocabulary suggestions, translations, and example sentences are generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude). This content:

• Is provided for educational purposes only
• May contain inaccuracies, incorrect translations, or inappropriate suggestions
• Should not be relied upon as the sole source of language learning
• Is not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or error-free

We are not responsible for any errors in AI-generated content.

8. Usage Limits

We may impose limits on certain features to ensure fair use and service stability, including but not limited to:

• Daily vocabulary extraction limits
• Maximum input text length for extraction
• Rate limits on API requests

Current limits are applied at our discretion and may change without prior notice.

9. Intellectual Property

• The App, its design, code, and branding (including the name “Yuki”) are the property of Timur Zadvornov.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.
• All third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners.

10. Availability and Changes

• We strive to keep the App available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without prior notice.
• We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion:

1. Your account is immediately deactivated.
2. All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
3. This action is irreversible — deleted data cannot be restored.

We may also terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will meet your specific requirements
• The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• AI-generated content will be accurate or reliable
• Any defects will be corrected

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of the United Arab Emirates.

15. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
